Skywalk Biokovo from Makarska: Minibus, Tuk-Tuk, Quad or Land Rover?

Updated October 20, 2026 · 7 min read

A semicircular glass platform jutting out from a mountain cliff above the sea

The short answer

The Skywalk is the same glass platform whichever tour you book. What you are really choosing is the way up: a minibus, an open tuk-tuk, a buggy, a quad, a Land Rover or a cabrio bus. For most people the simplest choice is the 3-hour tour from Makarska with entry and transfer included: €45 per person, 4.7 stars from 583 reviews. If you want the open-air ride and the most reviewed option, the Skywalk tuk-tuk tour with skip-the-line ticket costs €59 and has 4.9 stars from 1,078 reviews.

What the Skywalk actually is

The platform sits at 1,228 metres above sea level, at Ravna Vlaška on the Biokovo road. It is semicircular, about 8.5 metres across, and its glass floor reaches roughly 11 metres beyond the cliff edge. The park’s own rules set a maximum stay of 10 minutes on the glass and a limit of 30 people on it at once, so in busy hours you queue for a short turn rather than linger. There is parking and a toilet at the viewpoint.

A narrow mountain road climbs through Biokovo Nature Park. The view takes in the Makarska Riviera and, in clear weather, the islands of Brač, Hvar and Korčula.

The table lists the headline price. Read the next section before you compare the numbers.

Check what the price includes

Two of the listings say outright that the park entrance is not in the price. The Land Rover tour to Sveti Jure states that the park entrance of €15 per person is paid separately, which takes the real cost to about €65. The small-group tour to the Skywalk and Sinjal at sunrise or sunset, at €55.80, says park entry of €10 is paid separately, so about €65.80. The two listings name different entrance amounts, so confirm the figure on the booking page. An electric Land Rover tour that also reaches St George, the highest peak at 1,762 metres, asks you to pay the operator during the drive for the ticket they buy.

The minibus tours at €43 and €45 and the tuk-tuk tour at €59 describe the ticket as part of the offer, and the tuk-tuk one adds skip-the-line access. Once the gate is paid, the €50 Land Rover tour ends up dearer than the €59 tuk-tuk tour.

Which one for whom

  • You want it quick and cheap: the minibus tours. The €43 one is described as air-conditioned. You get the platform and the view, not much more.
  • You want to feel the mountain: the tuk-tuk is open-sided and the shortest at 2.5 hours. It suits couples and small groups who want photos without a long day.
  • You want to drive something yourself: the quad tour at €70 is the most expensive ride in the table, and there the ride is the point and the Skywalk the destination. Rated 5.0 from 263 reviews, it runs 3 hours in a small group.
  • You want the long, scenic version: the Land Rover and cabrio tours run 4 to 4.5 hours. The Land Rover adds Sveti Jure and a liqueur tasting, the cabrio runs in the morning or at sunset.
  • Sunset or sunrise: only some departures offer it. Check the time slot before you book, because midday is the hottest and busiest part of the day.

When to skip it

If you are afraid of heights, the glass floor is the entire attraction and there is no way around it. If low cloud or wind sits on the ridge, the view can be lost; ask the operator how they handle bad weather and cancellation before paying. The mountain is noticeably cooler than the coast, so a layer is useful even in summer. And the platform is small: if you hoped for a long walk, this is a short stop.

Driving up yourself

The tours exist because the road is narrow and winding, and reports describe it as single-lane in places with steep drops. If you rent a car anyway, you can compare rental cars in Makarska, but check the park’s web shop for entry rules and any limit on vehicles before you set off, because a self-drive visit is not the same as turning up at a free viewpoint.

Our pick

Take the 45-euro minibus tour with entry and transfer if you only want the glass platform and a fair price. Choose the tuk-tuk if the open ride matters to you and you accept paying €14 more. See the Skywalk tours overview for the full list and the quad, buggy and jeep tours for the off-road versions, and read the listing’s “includes” section before you pay.
